The Black House

Lincoln Drive is a busy thoroughfare that runs from East Phoenix through the heart of town of Paradise Valley and into the city of Scottsdale.  Along that drive in the middle of Paradise Valley, one can't help but see this ranch style house that has been painted completely black.  Even the perimeter wall is painted black.

It seems quite unusual given our desert heat.  I would think that house would absorb the heat and hold  on to it which would make cooling the place even more difficult and costly.  It makes you wonder.

Not something I would even do in a cold climate. Home of the Grim Reaper?

Hello again Sharon! Settling in again after our trip and catching up!
I really am surprised by this totally blacked out home! It's quite strange and not very welcoming!
Have a great week!

Feels a bit oppressive too, Sharon!

Definitely too dark Sharon, even if it had a trim colour might help! Hopefully they have super effective air conditioning ☺

That is strange.

You know that reminds me of the barns you see here in the UK

I like black, but not like that.

Needs a splash of colour. Good place to make an artist statement but maybe the owner already is with the black. :)

The Adams family with a contemporary touch?! I wonder what the neighbours think of it. At least it cannot be described at garish. I wonder if the colour fades in the sun?

Darth Vader's home.

Maybe the occupants are cold-blooded and need a lot of ambient heat?
